Storm Damage

We had a horrible storm last night which resulted in part of a bradford pear tree from our front yard falling on the house. About 1/2 the tree came down and if you've never felt a tree fall on a house let me tell you it is a scary feeling. The storm started around 5:30 and the tree came down about 6. At first we didn't know what had hit the house. Chad and I were just finishing up dinner and Jenny had just got home so we were all in the kitchen when we felt the house shake. We looked out the front window and saw this:
Half a tree on our house
Since the storm didn't last long Chad was able to get it off the house and it doesn't look like we have any damage to the roof. We will probably have to have the rest of the tree removed soon so it doesn't fall in the next storm. I hate the idea of removing this tree! We have 2 in the front yard that are so pretty and if we remove one it may look funny and off balance but I guess that is better than the alternative of having the rest of the tree on our roof one day.

So glad there was no damage. That is the bad thing about Bradford Pear trees. They grow so fast that they are week and that is what happens to most of them!!

Wasn't that storm crazy? I was at work but Pete said that lightning struck so close to the house that is set off all the fire alarms in our home...Davis still won't leave out sides after all the thunder!
