VA State Fair

Nathaniel and I went to the VA State Fair yesterday. Grammy had a herding trial on site so Pops came with her and we all got to hang out for the day. Nathaniel once again was in heaven in the animal area and wanted to see, pet and talk to all the farm animals. Fair food for lunch and ice cream for dessert - yummy! Pops and I were going to let Nathaniel ride a couple of rides but Nathaniel said no thanks so we didn't waste any money on tickets. He instead got to take free rides on the display tractors for sale. In Nathaniel's mind that is way better than the fair rides anyway! It was a beautiful day and so wonderful to get to spend some time with Grammy and Pops.

Couple of funny stories...When we got to the fair and Nathaniel saw Pops he asked to ride the Gator and when Pops told him he didn't have the Gator he asked for the Tractor. Nathaniel associates the Gator and Tractor with Grammy and Pops and didn't understand that it was possible to see them and not play on the farm. At least we found a tractor for him to ride!
Grammy was very excited that Sid got his shed at the herding trial. So when she came away from the post we were all telling her she did a nice job so Nathaniel said to me when we got in the car on the way home"Grammy is excited Sid got the shed!" Don't think he has any clue what a shed is but he was excited too!
