Nathaniel had what seemed to be a cold or some fall allergies last week. Clear runny nose and sneezing - I didn't think much of it until he woke up from his nap Friday afternoon. He was horse, coughing like a seal and had some shortness of breath. I called doctor for fear of croup and not knowing how bad it really was. Thankfully they could see us and it was confirmed - Nathaniel has Croup. Dr. Miller did say it was a mild case so no drugs needed and just to keep the humidifier running and let him heal on his own. He is has felt and acted fine this whole time but his breathing and voice sound so much better so we are thankful that he is on the upswing. The doctor also told us the cool weather is great for croup and he was not contagious so we let him play outside all weekend.
Remember the big tree in our backyard that was taken out by hurricane Irene? Chad borrowed a chain saw and has been working on cutting it up. This weekend he finally finished (it was a REALLY big tree) and Nathaniel had so much fun playing in the sawdust! Now that it is all cut up we have to decide what to do with all the wood. We don't have a wood burning fire place so that option is out; it is really nice oak wood though! Maybe we need a fire pit in the backyard.
