Ouch

Well Nathaniel had his first big fall today. Flat on his back on the tile floor in my kitchen. He fell back from a chair and managed to hit his back pretty hard. Luckily his head is fine but his back especially the left shoulder and side is very sore. I gave him some Tylenol and let it go for a couple of hours this afternoon to see if any swelling developed or got better or worse. After he woke up from a nap he was still pretty sore and wouldn't put weight to crawl using the left arm. I called the doctor and was told to watch and continue the medicine tonight and see how he is in the morning. There is no swelling or indication that it is anything except bruised and sore from falling hard. He seems a little better tonight and is sleeping peacefully now so hopefully he doesn't wake up in too much pain. Poor little guy! Makes me so sad to see him hurt and disappointed that he can't play the way he wants to. A couple of times this afternoon he forgot and went to crawl and quickly realized that it really really hurt! He can sit and stand just fine but putting weight on the left shoulder seems to bother him although he does have full range of motion in the arm and hand without pain.
