Christmas 2013

It feels like we have celebrated Christmas for the whole month of December. Between preschool programs/parties, church programs/activities and family its been a busy month filled with tons of celebrations. Chad's parents came to visit the weekend before Christmas to celebrate with us and spoiled us with lots of great stuff. We had a nice visit with them but since Nathaniel came down with pink eye on Friday we cancelled our plans to go out to eat on Saturday. I had made a roast in the crock pot for Friday evening and planned to take them out on Saturday to a Japanese Steak House. The weather was unseasonably warm so we ordered pizza and ate out on the deck. It turned out great and was a wonderful day at home.

We headed to NC on Christmas Eve to continue our festivities with my family. This was the first year in a long time that everyone was home for Christmas and what a Christmas it was! There were 9 people and 12 dogs at Grammy and Pops' for Christmas. We went to a beautiful Christmas Eve service at Long Memorial on Tuesday evening. After dinner, bath, and getting cookies ready for Santa, I read The Christmas Story to Nathaniel and got him in bed. Wednesday we opened gifts and ate delicious turkey made by Pops and just enjoyed being together as a family. We stayed in NC until Saturday so we could hang out with everyone and play on the farm. We also got to see some great friends/family while we were in town - Meagan and Dean, Michelle and her girls and Jeff and Jodi. We missed Aunt Jan this year since she was out of town but hopefully we will see her in January sometime.

We are very grateful for such a wonderful Christmas with all of our family and a very blessed 2013 filled with wonderful memories. We are looking forward to 2014 and the many memories we will continue to make.
