Thanksgiving 2013
We spent Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach with Chad's parents this year. It wasn't a typical beach trip but still lots of fun. We drove down early Wednesday morning and got to the condo early enough to unpack the car and head to Bass Pro for a visit with Santa and some fun shopping. Nathaniel loved see Santa and all the decorations and even played on the boats outside before we left - it was very cold so Gramma, Papa & I sat in the car waiting for Chad and Nathaniel to be done exploring. On Thursday we lounged in the condo in the morning, watched some of the Macy's Day Parade and a drank coffee. In the afternoon we went to Ryans for our Thanksgiving meal. The food was decent but the place was crowded and it didn't feel much like Thanksgiving. We did drive over to the Pirate Voyage after eating and the camels were outside so we were able to visit with them - this time of year they present the Christmas Story. They also had the otters in a small pool outside that entertained us for a while. This was the best free entertainment and Nathaniel loved it. Friday the boys and girls split up for some shopping, then met up later for some very yummy seafood at the Chesapeake House and a drive through Christmas light display and Santa village where Nathaniel and I actually got to ride a camel. Saturday was probably the warmest day and we made it down to the Boardwalk to play on the beach and in the arcade. We decided to drive home Saturday afternoon to avoid all the traffic on Sunday. We had a fantastic time with Gramma and Papa and can't wait to see them in a couple of weeks when they visit us the weekend before Christmas. Not sure how Gramma and Papa escaped all my pictures but they did. I will make sure to get some of them at Christmas!
