Christmas 2009

We spent this Christmas on the road visiting family in NC and SC. It was an amazing 1st Christmas with Nathaniel. Having a child brings the magic back in to the Christmas holiday. I know Nathaniel is too young to have any clue what is going on but I loved watching his eyes as he discovered the Christmas lights and the excitment that comes with unwrapping gifts. We also spent lots of time in December reading the Childrens Bible story about the birth of Jesus to Nathaniel with hopes that he will grow up to not only love Christmas for all the festivities but really understand why we celebrate this holiday.

Round 1 in NC with the Glei Family

Round 2 in SC with the Campbell Family
Our travels went fairly smoothly with the exception that Nathaniel got sick the last day we were in SC. Our plan was to leave the next morning and drive my to my parents house for a night before heading back to MD. My thought was that if we split our drive back Nathaniel would travel and sleep better. Since he had a fever, vomitting and diahrea we decided to only stop in NC for a few hours to feed him and keep him up before putting him back in the car and heading home to MD. A trip to the doctor the next morning confirmed he just had a virus and would be fine in a couple of days. He is doing great now!
