Infants & Toddlers

Nathaniel was referred to the Infants & Toddlers Program of our county since he is a preemie. The nurse came by last week to fill out some paperwork and meet Nathaniel. According to her quick assement he is doing everything a 1 month old should do and lots of what a 3 month old should be doing (YAY). We go for a full evaluation in October to see where he is in his development. After the evaluation they will track his progress and make sure if he needs any additional help between now and age 3 we receive it. The Infants & Toddlers program is designed to help children experiencing at least a 25% developmental delay in either cognitive development, physical development, speech and language, or social development. At this point we don't know how quickly Nathaniel will catch up or if we will need the additional support from Infants & Toddlers but it is nice to know that the service is available.
