Happy 3rd Birthday

WOW - How is is possible that Nathaniel is 3? I don't know the answer except time really flies after having a child. The truth is he is an amazing 3 year old and I can't imagine what my life would be like without him. Nathaniel has grown and developed so much over the past year. He is walking so much better and trying his best to run. He is learning to navigate steps and also getting steadier without the braces although he is more stable with them on and wears them most of the day. His language is fantastic and so are his cognitive skills. He has a very sweet heart and is a joy (most of the time) to be around. I don't feel like we experienced the terrible 2s so I hope we skip the terrible 3s too - I have heard they can be awful! Nathaniel definitely has his opinions but as long as we are consistent with him he usually does fine and learns quickly that his protest don't get him what he wants in the long run.

He was a little under the weather on his birthday last Thursday. He didn't want to eat and asked for a nap (totally not normal). Aunt Mi and Samantha were here for birthday lunch and he didn't even want the giant cupcake she made for him. When he woke up from nap he was very hot to the touch and was running a fever. We made it through the afternoon with ibuprofren but by dinner time he was hot again and asking to go to bed. We skipped the family cupcakes and gifts and put him to bed. Luckily by Friday morning he was much better and we were able to enjoy the weekend.

We had Gramma & Papa in town this weekend for a small birthday celebration - I decided no big party this year. Uncle Jason, Aunt Cristine and our neighbors also came over on Saturday for the cookout. We had a nice time despite the 90 degree temperatures.
